Design and layout
Training is available for people who have responsibilities for design and production but have had no formal design training. You will cover the fundamentals of design, working with type and how to enhance your layouts.
Training can be carried out your own documents making it more relevant to the work that is to be finally produced.
Adobe InDesign CS5 or earlier versions
Adobe InDesign is a page layout program that became the industry standard several years ago. InDesign provides a powerful and flexible platform for creating graphically intensive layouts eg. magazines, brochures, packaging, catalogues and advertisements.
Adobe Photoshop CS5 or earlier versions
Adobe Photoshop is an image editing tool used for the purpose of manipulating scanned/ digital images as well as being able to create illustrations.
Adobe Photoshop allows techniques such as retouching and colour correction, image montaging, texture generation, manipulation of text as image, illustration and special effects.
Adobe Illustrator CS5 or earlier versions
Adobe Illustrator is a vector drawing program. Illustrator allows you to draw, recreate logos and graphics, create special effects, manipulate type, create charts and produce complex fashion and architectural designs. Graphics can then be used for importing into InDesign and Photoshop or saved for web/multimedia use.
